The Zarduino X-10 shield is targeted for our roZetta application using the Zarduino-40 system board.
Three socketed PICs (one PIC12F1840, two PIC16F1825) support one TW523 or equivalent TTL level X-10 Power Line Control Interface (Alternately, a CM11A can be connected to the port associated with the TW523.), one legacy X-10 controller (e.g. Stargate, HomeVision, Ocelot) and an external RF receiver and/or IR receiver/transmitter. When connected to a legacy controller, the PIC emulates a TW523, allowing the legacy controller to be used to interface with and control other Home Automation interfaces. An optional PIC-based USB Host module supports the X10 CM15A.
The PICs run independently, reporting inputs to and receiving output and control data from the main processor via I2C.
The X-10 shield supports 3V3 or 5V systems with a user installed jumper required to select the system voltage. NOTE: The optional USB Host module requires a 5V system.
