Supports WIZ610wi Serial-to-Ethernet modules.
WIZNET modules are some of the most inexpensive Ethernet and WiFi modules available. Most retail for $25-30, making them very attractive for DIY projects. Their WiFi modules also use less current than some other WiFi modules.
The WIZ610wi module uses 3V3 and does not have 5V tolerant inputs. For 5V systems, there is an onboard 3V3 regulator. Users must install a wire jumper to select 5V or 3V3 operation. There are level conversion circuits on RX & TX only.
The WiFi module can use Ad Hoc or Infrastructure mode and use AT commands for both configuration and communication.
The module does not include SMTP/POP3 or SNTP protocols but I can write ZBasic routines to handle email (outgoing alerts only) and network time.
This shield will be supported by our roZetta application and an Android tablet application to communicate via WiFi (Ad Hoc or Infrastructure modes) is planned.
